How old should my child be before auditioning for company or Nutcracker?
Readiness for participating in a performance is based on many factors. For the dance companies, we generally recommend that students entering are in a minimum of 4th grade and have danced for at least two complete years in jazz and/or ballet. For the Nutcracker, students must be a minimum age of 8 and have completed one year of Children's Ballet 3 or Teen Ballet 2 or above.
